The growth of JPCC over the years is the result of the persistence and determination of believers who stepped out of the comfort zone of 'ordinary' and did the extra mile in living out God's Word to become 'extraordinary'. It was never because of the effort of one individual.
It all started in 1996 with a prayer group of 10 people who hungered and thirst for God and experienced powerful manifestation of the Holy Spirit. They initially named themselves as Jakarta Praise Center – Youth Ministry.
As this community answered its calling to be a contemporary church that actively reached out and served the young people, it was formally established as Jakarta Praise Community Church (JPCC) on 4 July 1999.
Since the beginning the leaders always believe that it's about setting an example, so that the world can see the mighty God who lives in them. With a servant's heart, the leaders are willing to put themselves at the lowest priority in order to serve others. At the same time, they also seek to give and achieve the best, and as they modeled this principle with a spirit of humility, they have been able to inspire the members to do the same. "We cannot walk alone, we have to walk together. A progress is when we all walk together to the next level. Another step gets us closer to success."
With this vision, they enthusiastically work together, as different members began to use their gifts and talents to contribute in fulfilling the vision to bless this generation and the next. As one body, they aspire to be history-makers.
Members of JPCC are to be a generation of stars who live and walk with the Great and Mighty God to bring impact to the nations. They aim to be a generation who knows their Master, and who seek and love Him with all their might, while continuing to be relevant to their generation and culture. To be a generation who live and walk in truth, becoming a blessing not only to their own communities, but also to Indonesia and to other nations.
